Reading the notification log and delivery status
How to use the notification log to confirm which alerts and digests went out, to whom, and whether delivery succeeded.
The notification log at the foot of the Overview tab is your record of every alert and digest StackTrackr has produced for your account. It shows the fifty most recent entries, newest first, whether they were triggered automatically each day or by hand from the Run now card.
Each row tells you the kind of message (a reminder or a digest), its subject line, the recipients it was addressed to, and the number of days out the alert related to where that applies. The sent column shows the date and time so you can confirm exactly when something went out.
The status column is the one to watch. A green 'Sent' means delivery succeeded; a red 'Failed' means the message could not be sent, which usually points to a mail server problem worth checking. Because every attempt is logged, a failure is never silent.
The log only ever shows your own account's entries. Digest emails carry recipient addresses and belong to exactly one organisation, so the log is strictly scoped to keep everyone's details private.
If your account has no mail server configured yet, a note reminds you that messages are being written to a local preview folder rather than sent. The log still records each one, so you can verify content and recipients during setup before switching to live sending.
Use this log to answer the everyday questions: did the renewal reminder for a given tool actually go out, who received last week's digest, and is anything failing to send? If a row shows 'Failed', check your mail settings and then use Run now to try again once the problem is fixed.
