The document vault: uploading and downloading files
How to attach contracts, invoices, emails and other files to a tool, the 25MB file limit, your plan's total storage, and how secure downloads work.
The document vault lets you keep the paperwork for each tool alongside the record it belongs to. Open any tool, go to its Documents panel, then drag a file onto the drop zone or use the upload button. You can give each file a title and tag it as a contract, invoice, email, terms or other. If you leave the title blank, we use the file name.
You can upload a file of any type. There is no format allowlist, so contracts, spreadsheets, PDFs, images and email exports are all fine. The one hard limit per file is 25MB. Anything larger is refused before it uploads, so trim or split large files first.
Each account also has a total vault size that depends on your plan: 50MB on Starter, 2GB on Team, 10GB on Growth, 50GB on Scale, and effectively unlimited on Business. While your free trial is running you get the Growth allowance (10GB). The total counts every document across all your tools, so if an upload would push you over, you will need to remove something or upgrade.
To keep the shared service healthy there is also a light upload throttle: if you upload a great many files in quick succession you may be asked to wait a few minutes before continuing.
To get a file back, click the download icon on its row. Files are always sent as a download (an attachment) and never opened inline in the browser, which keeps things like stored HTML or images from ever running. Your original file name is preserved on the way out.
Deleting a document is permanent and cannot be undone, so double-check before you confirm. Documents are private to your account: nobody outside your workspace can see or download them, and every download is checked to confirm the file belongs to your account first.
