Lifecycle states and what the badges mean
Each record shows a colour-coded badge derived from its dates and status, from Upcoming through Notice window to Overdue.
Every software record carries a lifecycle badge that tells you at a glance where it stands. Some states you set yourself; others StackTrackr works out from the dates.
Statuses you set always win. If you mark a record Trial, Notice given, Cancelled or Expired, that is what shows, regardless of the dates.
For anything left as active, StackTrackr derives the state from today and the record's dates. Upcoming (shown in an accent tone) means the renewal is within about 90 days. Due soon (amber) means it is within 30 days and warrants attention.
Notice window (red) is the urgent one. It appears when a tool auto-renews and its cancellation deadline is within the next couple of weeks - roughly a fortnight. This is your prompt to decide before the contract rolls over.
Overdue (red) appears when the end date has passed but the tool does not auto-renew and is still marked active - a renewal decision is outstanding. If the tool does auto-renew, a passed date keeps it as Active instead, because it has simply rolled into a new term.
Expired and Cancelled cover tools that have ended, while Notice given marks a contract you have cancelled that is still running out its current term. Trial marks something you are still evaluating.
The colours are consistent throughout: neutral for settled or informational states, accent for upcoming, amber for warnings, and red for the states that need action now. Scanning your register for red badges is the fastest way to find what needs a decision.
