Checking your reminder schedule and what has been sent
Where to see the reminder schedule your plan runs on, exactly which alerts each tool will fire, and the history of alerts already sent for it.
There are three places to check that StackTrackr will warn you in time. The Alerts card on the Team & alerts page shows the schedule your plan runs on. The Reminders panel on each tool shows exactly which alerts that tool will fire. And the Notification history further down the same tool page lists what has actually been sent for it.
To see the Alerts card, open Settings in the left-hand navigation and choose Team & alerts. The card describes Email alerts and carries an Active badge when StackTrackr's email sending is switched on. Under the heading You are reminded this many days before each deadline, the standard schedule is shown as tiles. On Team and above, and during the free trial, that is 90, 60, 30 and 7 days, with a note that you can set different reminder days on any individual tool from its own page. On Starter it shows 30 and 7 days, says the schedule is fixed on Starter, and links to Plan & billing to upgrade. The card only displays the schedule; it has no switches of its own.
On a tool's own page, the Reminders panel sits beside Dates & termination. It shows Enabled or Disabled, and when reminders are on it lists the offsets under Alerts fire, as chips such as 90d before, followed by the line Ahead of the renewal and cancellation deadline. These are the offsets that really fire on your plan, not just the ones saved on the record: on Starter a tool always shows 30d before and 7d before, even if a longer list is saved on it, and that saved list takes effect again if you upgrade. The cancellation deadline also gets an alert on the day itself, which is not shown as a chip.
The panel also tells you plainly when nothing can be sent. With reminders switched off it says the software will not generate alerts. With no renewal date it warns that no reminders can be sent and asks you to add one. A tool that never renews, such as a one-off purchase or a perpetual licence, says there are no reminders to send and suggests adding a support or maintenance renewal date if it has one. To change any of this, choose Edit on the tool and use its Reminders section: Send reminders for this software turns them on or off, and on Team and above Reminder days before takes a comma-separated list such as 90, 60, 30, 7.
Notification history lists the most recent alerts sent for that tool, newest first, up to the last 12. Each entry shows the email's subject, the type of alert and how many days out it fired (for example 30d out), then the date it was sent, the channel and the addresses it went to. A green dot marks a send that went through and a red dot one that failed. Until the first alert goes out, the section says no alerts have been sent for this software yet.
If the schedule looks right but an alert never arrived, check that reminders are switched on for the tool and that it is not archived or already marked cancelled, expired or notice given. Alerts go to the tool's Owner and to every active admin, so a tool with no Owner still alerts your admins. How reminder alerts work explains who receives each alert and every reason a reminder is skipped.
