The Plan and billing page

Where to find your current plan, how the tool and seat meters are counted, what Manage billing opens, and why invoice history is admin only.

Plan and billing is the screen that answers two questions: what am I on, and how does my estate sit against it. You reach it from Plan & billing, which sits under Settings in the left-hand navigation, and everyone in the workspace can open it.

At the top is your current plan with a status badge. Trial shows the days left on your reverse trial, during which the account has the full Growth feature set. Active means you have a live subscription. Payment issue means Stripe could not take the last payment, and that is the badge to act on quickly, because an unpaid subscription eventually ends and drops you back to the free plan.

Below that is Usage, in two halves. The Tools meter counts the tools on your account against your plan's limit. It counts every tool regardless of status, so cancelling or retiring one does not free a slot, which is deliberate: your register stays a complete history of what you have committed to. The Users half shows how many people are in the workspace. On a plan with a fixed user count you see your count against that number. On a per-seat plan you see how many seats are being billed, with a reminder of how many are included before the per-extra rate starts.

Manage billing opens the Stripe customer portal in a new page. That is where you update the card, change plan, download invoices or cancel. Nothing about your card is stored by StackTrackr; the portal is Stripe's own screen and it is the only place a payment method is entered.

The plan tiers are listed underneath, and choosing one behaves differently depending on where you are. With no subscription yet, selecting a paid plan opens Stripe Checkout. Once any subscription exists on the account, including one that is unpaid or still incomplete, a plan change is routed to the portal instead. That routing is on purpose: a second checkout against an existing subscription would bill you twice.

Invoice history appears further down, listing the date, invoice number, amount and status of your recent payments, with links to view each one or download the PDF. It appears from the moment your account has a Stripe customer record, which is as soon as you first go through checkout, and until a payment has settled it shows a short line saying invoices will appear after your first payment. An account that has never checked out does not see the card at all.

One thing to know if you are not an admin. The buttons that spend money or reveal billing records are admin only, so a member sees the page, the plan and the usage meters, but Manage billing and the plan buttons are disabled and the invoice history is not shown at all. That is a privacy measure as much as a permissions one: the view and PDF links Stripe issues open without a login, so they are never put in front of a non-admin.

Seats are counted from the number of members in the workspace rather than set by hand, so inviting or removing a teammate is what changes your bill. If you are planning a change of size, the Team & alerts page is where you make it and this page is where you see what it costs.
