Breaking down spend by vendor and customer

The Expenditure report groups your annualised spend by any dimension. It opens on Vendor and you can switch to Customer, Owner, Category or Business unit in a click.

The Expenditure report answers the question every budget owner asks: where is the money going? It takes your active estate, annualises each tool's cost from its billing cycle, and groups the total by whichever dimension you choose. Every group shows its annualised amount, its share of the total, and how many tools sit behind it, sorted from largest to smallest.

The report opens on Vendor, because supplier is the view most people want first: it tells you which vendors command the biggest share of your spend, and often surfaces where consolidating onto fewer suppliers could save money. Right beside it is Customer, so if you apply software to customers you can see how much cost sits behind each account - useful for reselling, cross-charging, or simply understanding who your estate serves.

You can also group by Owner, Category or Business unit. Switching driver is a single click on the toggle, and the table regroups instantly over the same underlying spend, so the grand total never changes - only how it is split. A tool with no value for the selected dimension (no assigned customer, say) is folded into an Unassigned group rather than dropped, so the totals always reconcile.

Spend is never summed across currencies, because that would be meaningless. If your estate spans more than one currency you get a currency toggle, and each currency is broken down on its own. One-off and perpetual purchases have no annual run-rate, so they sit at zero in the annualised view but are surfaced separately as a one-off total, so the money you spent stays visible.

The Expenditure report is part of the paid spend-analytics features. On the free plan the page shows an upgrade prompt; the headline annual-spend figure is always available on the Reports overview and the dashboard.
